Skin cancer

There are three major types of skin cancer: (1) basal cell carcinoma, (2) squamous cell carcinoma and (3) melanoma.

 

 

 

Signs & Symptoms

Melanoma appears on the skin as a new spot or growth or a change in an laready existing mole.

Some common causes of skin cancer

  • Ultraviolet light exposure
  • Chronically suppressed immune system
  • Exposure to ionizing radiation (X-rays)
  • Certain types of sexually acquired wart virus
